Do you wish you could lay around doing nothing right now? Me too… At least we can listen to a good song about doing it! Coming from LA-based outfit The Drives, “Keep Warm” is a song about pure infatuation and newly blossomed affection that’s sure to conjure up a good bit of nostalgia for most listeners. An ode to those nights when you and your partner stay up too late talking or the days where you just lay around doing nothing without a trace of boredom, The Drives perfectly capture the feeling with honest relatability. The relaxed tempo, atmospheric delayed guitars, and airy vocal harmonies create a soothing and uplifting backdrop for new love- making “Keep Warm” a great little pick-me-up for Tuesday afternoon.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
The Drives formed in late 2016 after the bedroom recordings of Andrew Levin (guitar/vocals) and Casey Chen (guitar/keyboard), best friends since high school, began making a stir online. After Geo Botelho (bass) and Diego Diaz (drums) joined, the band began playing live shows around Southern California. The band carefully mixes elements of indie rock, garage rock, and indie electro-pop to create a charming and memorable sound.
In mid 2017 the band entered the studio to record their debut self titled EP. The five track EP highlights the bands’ knack for creating infectious melodies with stadium friendly riffs.
