“Bummer Pop Rock” is the self described sound of their new track “I’m Not Good”. Staircase Wit is a great new band you should be listening to, though lyrically the song is kind of self-pitying and depressing the energy is fun and honestly I totally listened to songs with similar and more depressing lyrics almost daily when I was a teenager so now at 25 years old it’s cool and slightly refreshing to hear new music coming out like this!
Guitar chugs and atmospheric synth accompanies the vocals as Cameron Weaver sings to the sadness in his heart. The full band arrangement kicks in as the chorus goes “I’ve been thinking about what went wrong”. The textures are a familiar pop-punk meets singer-songwriter style and you’ll feel right at home, as they say “loneliness loves company”.
