LA may be a gloomy and slightly-flooded sight today, but Modern Love Child’s “Golden Brown” is picking things up like a warm ray of sun. Complete with reverb-soaked synth hooks, a tight kit, hand claps, and feel-good vibes galore, Modern Love Child’s debut single has everything you want from an indie pick-me-up. Telling the story of sun-drenched California dreaming, “Golden Brown” draws from influences ranging from the 80s through 2019. Blending the dancelike whimsy of 80s rock with the uplifting glow of modern indie staples, this debut sets the bar high. The official video, featuring pro surfer Tia Blanco, perfectly captures the youthful and carefree nature of young love and moving (or literally running) cross-country to the gold coast. All in all, the perfect track for a rainy day!
