“the fatalist” by girlhouse is sentimental alt work at its finest. Humor is the only way through bleak times and through the imagery in the music video the message of “the fatalist” really comes to life. Some aspects I really enjoy about “the fatalist” is the lengthy reverbs and slight bit of tuning on the vocalists harmonies. After listening a couple more times I started to really notice those arpeggiated synth runs that trigger a nostalgia for old fashioned video game consoles such as Sega or Nintendo 64. Overall girlhouse has made me sad with a couple of her songs but always in a way that gives me more hope than it takes away. I’m really excited for the debut ep out this spring! Keep it up girlhouse!
