From a member of the Bergamot, Nathaniel Paul delivers “songbird” which features a groovy beatnick type of whimsical visual aspect to accompany a contemplative and psychedelic track. “songbird” really gets me in the wanderlust mood that I think we’re all currently in for 2021. I can see myself enjoying this track on a long road trip to the mountains. Things that drew me in were the modulation effect on the guitar lines and how the layers of vocals reverberated in a way that made the whole thing seem like it might’ve been recorded in a cathedral.
