Hey folks, my name is Ian. I write the posts you see on this site and have been the primary contributor to this. My goal for covering the bands I do is that they get a little bump in exposure and have another clever blurb with articulate adjectives to add to a growing one-sheet. Over the years between my internships, blogging and just generally existing in the very musical world I live in I’ve had the good fortune to find a ton of great music. I’ve found some great artists from day one which are some of the proudest moments to be an early adopter for an artist’s first single and then a few years later they’re touring internationally! I’ve also made friends through blogging about bands and created a network of wonderful artists around NYC and the world.
Some of the music you’ll find on this site you’ll love, and some is very unique and that’s why I covered it. If you’re thinking about using SubmitHub or any method of contacting me to send your music here are some things to consider…
- I cover rock just to keep the blog consistent, I almost never cover anything else, but sometimes something is just so good I can’t pass
- I typically pass on anything where you can hear the pitch correction whether the choice is made out of necessity or if it’s an artistic choice
- If I pass on your music you shouldn’t let that bum you out or deter you from making music, I’m just one dude and this is your only life to make music so why let one random blogger’s opinion of your song get in your way?
