soft siren “Low”

soft siren’s new track “Low” dives straight into a hypnotic fog of trip hop, shoegaze, and 90s alt-rock. A distorted grunge riff that is lightly distorted and soaked with reverb and chorus cuts the first path in, opening into ethereal dreamy distant vocals and a pulse that feels half-dream, half-descent. It builds slowly, layer by layer, until you’re swallowed by a cinematic wall of sound that sits somewhere between Mazzy Star, The Cranberries, and Sneaker Pimps. Existential and a little haunted, “Low” feels like a cry for help whispered into the glow of a screen. Big fan of this atmospheric and whimsical while also dark and haunted production, such a cool vibe. If you’re into Massive Attack or Portishead this could be your new fave.
