Texan indie rockers Night Cap are here with “Lost”, a restless anthem that swells into a soaring chorus carried by Jake Bomgaars’s impassioned vocal. The song grapples with a relationship fading into memory, love lingering like an echo, half-present, half-gone. There’s a tension between holding on and letting go, delivered with guitars that demand full volume. “Lost” follows the shimmering “Like That” and points toward their upcoming second album It’s Happening (out Sept. 26), produced by Kolton Lee and Grammy-winner Jacquire King. It’s the sound of a band growing louder, sharper, and more unflinching, finding clarity in the ache of change. What pulled me in initially was the emotive vocals and the syncopated guitars on top of a very consistent rhythm section.
