The Family Battenberg is on tour around the UK promoting their new track “Anteater” via Spider Rock Worldwide. Grungy goodness ensues with a Jar of Flies esque visual to their new track. Garage-y and psychedelic are also sonic qualities that match with the new track. Anteater” blends garage rock grit with a swirling dose of psychedelia—lo-fi textures, spaced-out guitars, and just the right amount of chaos. What really drew me in were the rhythmic choices: sharp, syncopated snare hits that land like punctuation, keeping everything tight even as the track veers into hazy, unpredictable territory. It’s equal parts swagger and substance, and it shows The Family Battenberg pushing their sound into darker, more dynamic waters. I love the artistic choice to go halftime for an out of the blue bridge and eventually culminating in a chaotic high energy outro.
