Matt Monsoor “Sam’s Hill” is a song from an artist out of Wisconsin. “Sam’s Hill” has some great musicianship on it and the tone and texture is brooding and reserved in a way that’s sexy and cool. The relentless mezzoforte dynamics coupled some interesting harmonic changes and hooks from both keys and guitar that compliment the vocal melody in a call and response manner make for an enjoyable listen. It’s a lengthy track which I respect especially in 2025, I imagine this compliments a long drive down a straight road through rural Wisconsin very well. Kerosene Hour vibes with this track.
The outro guitar work is truly spectacular.
