Electric Lemonade “Waiting”

Electric Lemonade “Waiting” is self described as “Waiting is about the crushing yet painfully ordinary weight of grief. It is a moody rock song featuring powerful vocals, fuzz soaked guitars, and a syncopated grooves.” For me “Waiting” was a slightly quirky indie track that rose from a simple groove into a more lush fully textured track in a familiar way that soothed my ears and comforted me in a way that I appreciated. The guitar licks are unique but given some of the embellishments right before the fuzz kicks in, I cannot help shake the feeling that there is some Rusted Root inspiration. This is music from Northern Canada and it has a soundscape sonic quality to my ears that is unsurprising as I picture this is what the frontier would sound like to rockers. Thanks Electric Lemonade for taking me to the great north with you for a tune. Also what a great band name.
