I love a good left turn to start a song. “I’m A Mess” is a classic sounding indie rock song with catchy guitar melodies, lyrics that are a bit scattered which fits the message of the song and energy that pulls the listener into a chorus with surprisingly gritty and powerful vocals for an indie rock track. I can see myself windows down screaming this chorus into the warm summer air come 2025. The ending of “I’m A Mess” features another left turn right at the end as well.
