Trevor Gordon Hall’s “You Have What You Seek”

Trevor Gordon Hall’s “You Have What You Seek” is a gorgeous solo guitar piece featuring chords that I could only dream of being able to perform. Trevor is clearly someone who digs deep when writing their own music, reflected in a powerful and thoroughly thought-out one-sheet. For me this style of music is something I’d just want playing on an endless loop in a sunroom around all four seasons, it’s the most relaxing style of music and it’s even better when you realize how much time and effort the artist has put into their work!

This might be my favorite melody to play right now. From a new song entitled “You Have What You Seek” 🎸 This series has been a journey of mental health reflections and creative challenges, composing each piece in an hour on my nylon string guitar. Music has always been where all my sides meet, where I find both my highest ideals and deepest doubts 🌌. Inspired by friends like Soenke Meinen, Vin Downes, and my late friend Michael Chapdelaine, this project has become a way to connect with myself and others 🌟. Chapdelaine once said that writing songs is like writing letters to your future self, a thought that deeply resonates as I explore the themes of lack and wholeness. Lacan’s idea of an inner lack drives our desires 🧠, while Jung’s perspective suggests wholeness is already within us 🌱. “You Have What You Seek” explores the tension between these ideas. Ultimately, it’s about realizing that what we seek is already inside us 💭. With this in mind, I picked up my guitar and reminded myself, “You Have What You Seek” 🧘‍♂️. #guitartok #fingerstyleguitar #fingerstyle #guitarfingerstyle #acousticguitar #fingerstyle_guitar #guitarplayer #guitarlover #guitarra #guitare #sologuitar #tiktokguitar #guitaristsoftiktok
