Velvet Rouge’s “I Don’t Know Why” is a song that should be featured on Spotify’s fierce femme playlist given the impressive vocal performance. The arrangement is a familiar rock track and the lyrics are somewhere between The Pretty Reckless and Florence + the Machine. Something about the music video also makes me think that Gina of Velvet Rouge could also have a solid country career, don’t hate me, it’s just what I heard. As someone who blogs almost exclusively in the alt-rock scene though I’m relieved to have more of this style of music. Life’s about hard-hitting loud music and this is a great example of that.
