Pulverizing the indie rock scene of Asbury Park, New Jersey since they were October Boys brings the debut single of the rock outfit October Man. The busy toy drum sounds invite the eventual explosion of “Matchstick”. A big fan of this harmonic quality which I think is in a different key but the same concept as “Cherub Rock” or “Prosthetic Head” during the chorus, however, the harmonic qualities do get fairly complex during the verses and bridges. This is a booty-shaking indie rock track. Great songwriting and performance in their debut.
