Nicolai Dunger’s “Melody Rules” has some of the best organic production I’ve heard and some incredible pedal steel playing. With a songwriting career that spans over 25 years and 22 albums this veteran of their craft has achieved a level of mastery we can all only hope to aspire to for their songwriting and production techniques. “Melody Rules” is a sweet heartfelt tune that is lofty and tender while maintaining a driving rhythmic quality. A perfect hazy summer indie bop.
