Spurts is a bedroom indie rock band out of Oakland. Spurts is a joint project of songwriters Robert Sanlis and Nathan Graves.
“Jeff Tweedy” starts off with distorted drums, guitar, and vocals to create an ominous feeling as the vocals edge out “Jeff Tweedy is mocking me”. All of a sudden the envelope opens and lets in all the bandwidth for a hard-hitting guitar melody that is supported by guitars that are thick as fuck. A beautiful use of Bigsby by the lead guitarist. I definitely expected this to go back into some kind of verse but the indie band Spurts keep it short and sweet with “Jeff Tweedy”
