🌅 It Will Not Always Be Winter 🌅 Happy Spring 🌱 Available now on all streaming platforms! 🎸 This is the 3rd installment of the new nylon string guitar meditations series. 🎸 In an effort to prioritize clarity of ideas over technical feats, which in the past has led to analysis paralysis for me while composing, I challenged myself to compose & arrange a piece within an hour, centered around a concept I had been contemplating at the time, and then record it shortly after. I had a conversation with a friend that deeply resonated with me. We discussed the 🔄 cyclical nature of life and the idea that when life is going well, it will inevitably change at some point. 🔄 Good times inevitably give way to challenges, but the reverse is also true. When life is 🌱difficult, it will get better. Life is change, and everything is transitory . To obsess only over present circumstances, whether good or bad, can really deprive us of something special . We talked about that old saying from a Greek thinker, 🧐 “it will not always be summer, build barns,” urging preparedness for the inevitable changes. However, my friend also offered a counter perspective to this: “it will not always be winter,” reminding that difficult times will pass as well. This resonated profoundly with me, and I asked for his permission to use the title. Despite the cold and barren periods, both internally and externally, spring 🌿 always follows.
