“Clean Break” is the second single off of modern-day machine’s sophomore EP. “Clean Break” features many dynamic shifts but maintains energy throughout.
Explosive emo and melodic rock combine to make a darkly mysterious and energetic track by modern-day machines and King Like Mom. The style is skate park adrenaline and angst that hits hard and doesn’t let the listener up from start to finish. Some guitar riffs are borderline metal riffs, but the clean vocals and pulsing straight rock energy are palpable and branch out beyond just one rock genre niche. For me “Clean Break” is something I’d expect to see in an extreme sports flick where athletes perform death-defying stunts and intense music makes the moment.
